Setting root on Adobe Update Server setup?

Hello All,

I'd like to set up an internal test Adobe Update Server on a MacBook Air running 10.8.4. Here's what I've done:

  • I've installed the creative cloud packager.
  • I've verified that the apache web server is running because "It Works!" shows up when I visit the localhost in the web browser.
  • I deleted all of the files in the document root, which is /Library/WebServer/Documents.
  • I created a path at the document root called /Adobe/CC.
  • I copied the AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool to /usr/bin so I don't have to type out that tedious path when calling it.
  • I ran the following command to set up the Adobe Update Server:
    • AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool --root="/Library/WebServer/Documents/Adobe/CC" --fresh
    • It returned:
      • Could not access the specified path.
      • AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool returned with code: 3
  • i ran the following command with sudo:
    • sudo AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool --root="/Library/WebServer/Documents/Adobe/CC" --fresh
    • it returned:
      • Network failure.

      • AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool returned with code: 4

Not really sure what to make of it. I'm accessing the internet with a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter if that helps anyone figure this out.
